Instructor: Prof. Wang Xiaofan (汪小帆 教授)
Course description and objectives
Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to apply basic knowledge of network science to various practical problems, which include analyze the properties of real networks, build representative network models, analyze the effects of network structures on dynamical behaviors.
Students are expected to have the following background:
Familiarity with the basic calculus, the basic linear algebra and the basic probability
Knowledge of basic programming principles at a level sufficient to write a reasonably non-trivial computer program
( Wang Xiaofan, Li Xiang, Chen Guanrong Network Science: An Introduction. )
Each student should submit an report on complex networks, which may follow the IEEE format and will typically be around 10 pages. Collaborations are welcomed, but copy is not!
All course participants must adhere to SJTU Academic Conduct Code. All instances of academic dishonesty will be reported to the university.
